Need some advice. Bought a minor project property which has double glazing that is about 10 years old. It's Everest and seems in good condition (no moisture leaks, UPVC is in good condition, etc)

However, The sealant that has been put into the joins between units has discoloured significantly - see below (this is inside the house). The pic isn't perfect and it isn't quite that brown, but it's definitely nowhere near white.

Thoughts on rectifying? Do I:

1) remove sealant and re-apply fresh?
2) re-apply sealant over it?
3) is there a product to clean it and return it to white?
4) pain over it with a fine brush?

Many thanks.

Is this joining 2 upvc units?

If it is just silicone then remove it and redo. I would carefully cut most of it off with a stanley blade (being very careful not to slip) then put on a silicone eater (comes in skeleton gun tubes) leave for an hour or so and then wash down with detergent.

Leave to dry overnight and use a dow corning white silicone.

DOnt even consider going over the top, and cleaning will just be a stop gap until you redo it anyway!

Thanks, I'll look into that.

Is there a particular brand of sealant that anyone would recommend for this?
