How the hell do i adjust my washing machine so it doesnt shake itself to bits? I understand you need to do something with the feet but the floor surface under the worktop is uneven so i dont know how to get round it. If i drag it out and adjust it it wont be right when i put it back.

Anyone solve this?

More to do with the load.
One towel in a load of shirts will throw a wobbler so to speak.

Don't underload either, a full load will find it's own sense of balance far better than half a load.

If you've got the space put some reasonably thick plywood or MDF under it you can level that then you know the ground is level and the feet should need to be the same length, I live in a upstairs flat with wooden floors meaning the washer can be close to level but if it is moved a little it can end up completely unbalanced.

On a side note, why can't washing machine designers put a self levelling system on that can be used on first set up, then can be locked off till it is moved again.

Balancing is nowt to do with levelling. It's about loading it correctly.
Do your car wheels go out of balance if you go up hill??

Is it new?

It's not a case of taking out the drum bolt thingies from the back is it?

Not that this happened to me, and not that I couldn't work out quite why my new washer was so keen to sprint across the kitchen on its first few uses, and not that I hadn't read the instructions cos I'm a bloke........boxedin

Nah, not new, just gradually getting loose. Its bloody awful. Be less noisy washing stuff with a howitzer.
