Good afternoon, When having the survey carried out on the house it mentioned that the pointing on the brickword around the windows needs doing. It is now coming to the top of my "to do before winter list" but whilst I am OK at small DIY I have never tackled any type of brickwork. Is is just a case of cutting out the old and mixing new and putting it in? How do I et the old stuff out and do I have to in as deep as the brick itself? Also how can I be sure the colour matches?

Sorry for the all questions but am considering ettin a pro in but I do like to learn new skills.

Cheers
Steve

Have a quick look on YouTube . The critical thing with pointing is access , if you can get to where you need to point safely then it is fairly simple and tedious smile

Thanks Jas, I can et access very safely. It only seems to be the half bricks at the bottom corners of each window (They are concrete sills on the outside if this matters) I will check you tube

A small grinder (yeah, cowboy trick, I know!) and a silicone style gun from Screwfix.
Heck, it's getting cold and days shorter so just get it done fast!
