My OAP mother has recently moved back into her house, and has decking in the garden. This has recently been jet washed, but is still quite slippery and even more so when wet (even I fall over on it when wet, so she has no hope)

Is there anything we can buy to paint on it or whatever to make it less slippery? Some kind of wood treatment or something?

Thanks

we have just put decking strips by a company called watco all over our decking here at work. Fantastic product but not cheap!

but they also do this which might be a bit more cost effective:

I have seen chicken wire put down, with a staple gun.
Not the prettiest, but cheap, quick and easy to remove when needed.

Varnish and fine sand (mixed together) will provide a nice grippy surface. Will green up faster though.

I've seen this done in a local park, so it must be effective or the council wouldn't be doing it.
