Does anyone know of any timer I can use for a bathroom light? (Pull cord type job)

I'm fed up with having to keep turning it off every time I walk past. I have just about persuaded the kids that flushing the toilet is a good idea, but turning off the light as well seems to be a step too far!

How would that work? Unless it was set for a fairly long time, otherwise it would be on too long or not long enough. Shower or toilet visit

Quick replies cheers!

That pull cord replacement would work - if it was set for say 25 mins it would be enough time I think. And it says that you can set it for 'timed' and normal operation at the same time which might be good if anyone actually decides to turn the light off (can't see that happening though!)

PIR sounds interesting! Do you see that as being a replacement for the pull switch or in addition? And would it keep the light on as long as it sees movement?

Years ago when I rented a room in a house, the light in the hallway was operated by a push switch that looked a bit like a doorstop, only wall-mounted. You pushed it in against a resistance, and it slowly sprang out again so that after a short time it turned the light off. No idea what it was called but it was cheap and efective.

Time lag switch.

That was my initial thought, but not really suitable for a bathroom.

I've got this. Mine is the dimmer one but there is a timer option.

I've got a couple of these going spare if you are interested. Bought them, but haven't used either yet.
