Tram (Spelling?) Membrane - one way apparently

I am creating a hard standing on my front lawn, and 2 people have now told me I need tram membrane as it will only let water through one way. The ground is very soft and wet and digging it all out will cost a fortune, let alone for the stone to fill it again!

I have googled and I cant find Tram Membrane which might be spelt differently! So what is it, and where do I get it?

Aaahh Terram. I was an apprentice at ICI Fibres Potypool where Terram was first "spun". Certainly at that time it was not "one way".

If the ground's already waterlogged, I'd temporarily lay the membrane upside down, so the water can escape upwards and evaporate. Then when the subsoil has dried out, reverse the membrane to allow rainwater to drain through.

Done a search and it seems that Terram products are NOT one way except for Rootguard+ which you won't need for a hardstanding/driveway.

Ah well one of the guys that recommended it turned up with some today. Left strict instructions on which way up it is to go. My wife did discover that if you stand on it when its covering a hole full of water and you stand on it the water will come round the edge of it and then over the top giving you wet feet!
