bd things have chewed through one of the cables.

I'm going to fix them (resolder + heatshrink sleeving), but any good ways of stopping the squirrels doing it again (short of powering the lights with 500VDC or protecting them with an air rifle)?

Solution: Don't put up outdoor lights, which instantly make any house look like it belongs on a particularly chavvy council estate.

Thanks for your insight. Not that I'm particularly worried about your opinion of me, but it is a simple string of clear LEDs in a small tree in our back garden that looks nice from our living room window. I'll be sure not to invite your round, though, as I wouldn't want to offend your sensibilities.

Shoot them as they multiply faster than rabbits mad

After they totally trashed the loft space I bought a very effective Crosman Ratcatcher air rifle.

Hmmm, soldered the 2 broken wires back together - 90% sure I got them the right way round - but nothing. I think I will have to admit defeat. I suppose the control unit/plug thing must have an internal fuse that popped.

Next Christmas I shall be asking for an air rifle mad
