Kitchens (Glasgow area, possibly Kutchenhaus)
Discussion
Looking at a new kitchen for the house, can't really decide where to go, liked the Wren kitchen, but the price difference between Wren and Kutchenhaus wern't huge, and teh quality at Kutchenhaus seemed much superior, and the kitchen is custom made which seems ideal for a small kitchen and lets us maximize the use of what space we have.
Not really looking to spend more than 10K on the kitchen (bearing in mind, it is a small kitchen), anywhere else we should look, ask about? They said to compare them to there competitors but not too sure who that would be.
Ruled out the Ikea/B&Q/Howdens, tried DM-Design but was unimpressed by the finish.
What appliances are best to use, Kutchenhaus offer CDA, Siemens, NEFF. don't know the CDA stuff but it comes with a much longer warranty.

Whenever a budget for a kitchen is mentioned, it should be accompanied by an explanation of what items/services it includes. For instance, does it include flooring, removal of old tiles and making good, installation, worktops, electrical, gas and plumbing work, appliances etc. Some of these things won't be required on every kitchen. If appliances are to be included, then will they include laundry equipment?
We've got built in CDA appliances - dishwasher and fridge/freezer and no problems whatsoever in the near-on 7 years they've been used. Had never heard of CDA until then, but told they're as good as Siemens/Neff.
Can't help on who to use for a kitchen, we went bespoke with a longstanding local company from reputation and employs all it's own fitters/electrician/plumber/tiler - cost was about £12k back then but included utility room refit, range cooker/back plate/hood, wall tiling and some feature top box type units (alu edge/opaque glass front). Kitchen size is about medium I guess!

Going to need everything for the kitchen,Appliances (fridge/freezer/electric oven/induction hobs/dishwasher/Washing Machine possibly integrated microwave)
I'll be doing the prep work myself, removing old tiling etc, and be getting new tiles separately from the kitchen purchase (seem the ones I want from a tile specialist).
I've not included fitting in the budget for the kitchen, as my neighbour( a descent builder, has put in a very nice kitchen and extension in his house) will more than likely be doing installation with some building works at the same time.
Its not a name that springs to mind immediately when you think kitchens, but whenever I'm in John Lewis in Glasgow I pop downstairs and wander around the display kitchens. They seem to have a decent range, look good quality to me and lots of nice little design/storage features - worth a look?

The showroom in Braehead looks good, quality seems pretty high, not sure who there main competitors would be, going to look at a local place called Black Orchid Kitchens this afternoon.Heartworm said:
