not car related but a problem which some PH'ers might have had a problem with

long story short, redecorated my entrance hall, stairs, room at top of stair and then two other bedrooms in Dulux Pbw Gloss about three months ago

it turned cream and then yellow in some parts

i don't smoke and was told thee was a big deal made about it

I repainted it all myself and having contacted Dulux they have sent me a claim form.

it says 'photographs of the tin and barcode'

now obviously I don't keep empty paint tins so i don;t have these, all I can really show is photographs of the affected areas

just interested if anyone has had any luck and what is the best way to claim?

How could you not post this in the Lounge or another more appropriate section?!

Have you got the receipts? I'd have thought copies of those and the affected areas would suffice.

This problem was on BBC WatchDog a week or 2 ago.

Same problem here in our new bathroom. Not impressed but not thought of making a claim.

I painted our hall stairs and landing with Dulux gloss last year, was yellow within a couple of months.

Painted the rest of the house using cheapo own brand wilkinsons paint, still nice and white now.

certainly wont bother using premium brands gloss again on that basis !

Batch of product is faulty -> All big-brand paints are crap. Good consumer logic there!

As he said, the cheaper one did the job so no need to buy anything else really. Something learnt - good consumer logic in my opinion!

Yes, I should qualify my statement, it wasn't anti Dulux / premium brands as such, more that a cheaper product (appears) to have done the job to my satisfaction, and I would be happy to use it again.

I can see how it might have read ! smile
