Personally, I wouldn't bother with either single pack or polyeurethane floor paint, both may lift over time, not withstanding how well prepared the surface is....
Be aware that preparation of the suface prior to painting is the key to the longevity and finish of the final coat. Worth either scabbling, or diamond grinding the surface to ensure a good mechanical key. Failing that, at least acid etch the surface.
If you are using 2 pack apint
- make sure the area is well ventilated
- read the instructions
- use a paddle mixer to ensure the two parts are well mixed together
- after mixing the paint, leave it for 10 minutes to start to go off
- make sure you are ready to go and can do the job in one go. Once the paint starts to go off, you are working against time....
- be prepared to bin everything that comes into contact with the paint
I wouldn't buy watco, etc paint for DIY use, as the stuff from regal, etc is basically the same, but about 1/3 of the price.
