Commission/de-commission an alarm (Anglian)

I am looking for some advice on an alarm that was in the house when we bought it. We do have some documentation that it was installed by Anglian and the basic operations manual on the alarm. We do not have any alarm fobs however so cannot arm the alarm.

I did not think the alarm was actually active until SWMBO tried to remove one of the window sensors to do some painting and the alarm triggered for the next 10 minutes. Since this time everytime we open or close an outside door the alarm beeps so it seems that it has been activated. Turning the elctricity off triggers the outside alarm which I assume has its own battery.

I would like to keep the alarm but want to get some control over it so I can remove sensors without triggering the alarm.
