Any washing machine experts on here
Discussion
I have a 12 month old Hoover washing machine that has developed a problem. Last night it appeared to be doing it's final spin for longer than normal so when I looked I could smell a faint burning.
So i turned it off at the wall and emptied the washer. Tonight I reloaded the machine and it washed on a normal cycle until the final spin again where it tripped the circuit breaker on the fuse board.
I flipped the breaker and the machine continued to spin again and when it got upto speed it tripped the breaker again
Any idea's as it's just out of warranty

Unlikely to be brushes at 12mths.

Maybe see if you can extend the warranty quick!

Check out the Sales of Goods Act first though - This states that items must last a 'reasonable time' and this could be up to six years.
You have to speak to the shop rather than the maker - best to go to head office rather than some spotty oik in the shop, and explain that the goods have not lasted and under the act you want it investigated, repaired or replaced.

+1 This. Don't mess with it, it's under guarantee and if you start taking it apart you'll nullify the warranty. Look in your book that came with it for their repair schedule. You have to speak to the shop rather than the maker - best to go to head office rather than some spotty oik in the shop, and explain that the goods have not lasted and under the act you want it investigated, repaired or replaced.
Actually reminds me of a story from last year. I had a Beko dishwasher that broke, phoned the people suggested in the book that came with it, not Beko it was a third party firm but that's who they've contracted their repairs and warranty to, and the lovely lady there asked me how long I'd had the machine. I told her about 18 months. She asked me again how long I'd had the machine and I told her again about 18 months. She said what a shame, if I'd had it less than a year, the repair would all be free. And then asked me yet again how long I'd had the machine and this time I said, err a bit less than a year I think. Oh good she said, that means the repair's free, we'll have a chap out tomorrow to fix it. And no-one asked for the receipt
