I am always sad come January and I see all the discarded Christmas Trees left out to end up in landfill so this year thought I would make my own using 18mm Birch Ply.
Yes I realise I'm a carpenter and waste more than my fair share of timber but this one should last a good few years.

The Pot with Cedar balls to replicate soil.

The burn test, got it down to 72mm and still no fire.

The technical drawing for the pot.

Hope you like.

Thats really nice, pretty sure people would pay decent money for something like that.

No smell at all, bought some nice John Lewis candles so not like the old Ikea 1 hour burn ones. They make the room smell lovely with Birch, Juniper and festival spices. I'm getting in the spirit of Christmas finally.

How long did it take to light?
Too long, also didn't realise that Clipper lighters don't like to be 'On' for too long, the flint shot out and we had a minor gas leak.

That's my thinking, may have missed the boat this year. I've had a shop in Regents Street showing an interest but shop windows and flames don't go that well together for the insurance man.

That looks beautiful. I really want one of those now, puts my half-arsed plastic tree to shame.

Top effort.

How much do you think you could sell them for?

PH rates of course!

very impressive clap

I think i'd still have reservation about leaving the room with it lit though even though you have tested it thoroughly hehe

I'd gladly buy one of those! (Even if I can't have it until next Christmas).

You should definitely consider selling them. I'd query whether you even need to do it through a shop. Internet sales and word of mouth... to begin with, at least?

So... how much?

I'm liking that. Quite contemporary and no poxy needles to shed.

Out of interest OP - where are you based? I need a carpenter for a small project.
