Got 10-15 of these stumps I need below ground level... What's the best way to get rid of them?

I've heard of stump grinders but not sure if these are for larger stumps or will work here?

Call that a stump wink

Dig the earth away thats round it, chop through every root that you find, apply plenty of elbow grease to lever it out.

Just did that with all the left over bushes at the other end of the garden, what a fecking horrible job! They were a lot smaller aswell yet it's took me 3 nights after work to do them. There has to be an easier way laugh That was using a multi-tool, spade etc so I'm sure a chainsaw would make light work of them.

Taken loads of these out of our place, some far larger. Best advice I can give, invest in a mattock, easy peasy, lemon squeezy

Could be a bit close to the edge for a stump grinder.

Mattock + elbow grease...

I had a whopper last week. 5ft bar to prize it around, chop through the roots, then I had to drag it out with a transit van. Yours looks like it will lift out ok.

Mattocks double up for all sorts of other jobs as well.
Think of them as a crowbar for the garden and go for the most weight possible in the head + handle.

Mattlock thing, bit of digging and a bit of chopping then get a very long post under them and lever them out.

I did about 15 a couple of weekends ago, most a bit bigger than this. The post I used was about 8ft long, dig a small hole under the stump and the level will do the rest. A chainsaw won't speed things up much and it is a pretty dangerous way to use it.

Drill a hole thought the side of it. Put some rope through and lift straight out of the ground with an engine hoist.

Next time don't cut them off near the ground, leave 4-5ft of trunk and strip the branches. With a little digging you can then push /pull them over complete with stump.

Bit more graft with a mattock and dig them out this time I'm afraid.

Dig down 6" at one side, and get a reciprocating saw in there to chop away below ground level.
Chainsaw would be blunt in seconds with all that soil around, and probably lethal if it hits a rock.
