The glass door to our oven has decided to come adrift from the hinge
super epoxy resin doesn't refix it the same result with superglue!!

So can anyone recommend a mastic that will stick to glass and metal and withstand oven temps ( up to 220c)
It needs to be stickier than st to a blanket.
The last thing i want is the door falling of at 11.00 Xmas morning

Thanks

You need a structural glue not a sealer.

Go and see a windscreen place, they should have a structural glue especially for gluing metal to glass. Don't bother with the Halfrauds garbage, it doesn't work. The stuff you want is made by Loctite and is two pack but I can't remember the part number, i will have a look on the van later if I remember.

Something like this

You'll need a mastic gun as well of course.

Are you thinking of this stuff? I use it to stick mirror bosses/ rear view mirrors back on.

Not sure about its heat resistant properties, you can melt it off with a lighter.

That'll be just the job on an oven door then.

This will stand the heat but is it adhesive enough?

That's the stuff. Once it has fully cured it can't be removed by like OE mirror bosses with a hot air gun. I stuck the handles on my mirrored wardrobe doors with it as the ones supplied were dire. 8 years on they're still there, seriously strong stuff, you'll pull chunks out of the glass frying to get it off.

The Ebay stuff might be a bit messy and if you're only sticking small areas it's not much good, too much flex.

That stuff is pretty much 'just' "superglue" and is only rated to about 125 degrees, so no good on an oven.
