Not sure on how many watts it will cope with but you can get remote Wifi plugs (Belkin Wemo). Is this something you were looking at?

I was going to suggest something like that as a ghetto solution, although the hot tub wiring would need to go to a socket inside. Also for safety the tub controls might default to being switched off when power is applied, but if they are basic/cheap it might be fine.
