Hi

My kitchen really needs another radiator, but the only wall available has a radiator on it already.

Can i mount another one directly above it so that one goes directly into the other?

Would the fliw be ok?

Cheers

Is the current rasiator a single or twin panel?

Yep, you're better off with a bigger radiator.

Current is twin panel.

It is the widest i can fit.

Swapping for triple wont be enough.

So i want to put another double panel radiator above it.

Do you not fear it might look a bit daft? Also the pipework runs would be unsightly. How about one of those 2 meter high column radiators?

Work out BTU and get one with a higher rating.

Or I have seen kitchens with fan heaters added to the plinth underneath. Would that be an option for you?

Yeah kickboard heater with electric fan/ ch system plumbed heat exchanger are very good. Or electric element for easy install.

I'm not sure what the BTU is for some of those designer rad's. They may just be for show and not have a very good heat output. I have seen long standard rads mounted vertically, which would solve your problem. I'm not sure if you have to have different mounting brackets, or if the rad is designed to be mounted vertically.

Found them, looking at the designer type rads, the BTU look good. They are all on this site, it should give you and idea what you can get and how good they should work.

What size rad have you got at the moment? What size is the room you are trying to heat, including ceiling height?

Thanks for all that.

I think i can almost double he bfu with a 200 by 70 from someone like stelrad for 350 pounds.

I think that may be the way to go.

Tired of the kitchen being chilly in winter.
