Work out BTU and get one with a higher rating.
Or I have seen kitchens with fan heaters added to the plinth underneath. Would that be an option for you?
Yeah kickboard heater with electric fan/ ch system plumbed heat exchanger are very good. Or electric element for easy install.Or I have seen kitchens with fan heaters added to the plinth underneath. Would that be an option for you?
I'm not sure what the BTU is for some of those designer rad's. They may just be for show and not have a very good heat output. I have seen long standard rads mounted vertically, which would solve your problem. I'm not sure if you have to have different mounting brackets, or if the rad is designed to be mounted vertically.
Found them, looking at the designer type rads, the BTU look good. They are all on this site, it should give you and idea what you can get and how good they should work.

What size rad have you got at the moment? What size is the room you are trying to heat, including ceiling height?
