Pen off Leather

What's the best product for getting ink off leather..other than elbow grease

At your own risk, try a safe area first etc, hairspray will usually do it with biro. No idea about other inks.

Brake cleaner will do it. Then feed leather afterwards.

Milk on a cloth works! no really it does. Gets it off wood too.
But how is it I can never find a pen that works but my 18 month old can seemingly find one at will?

Good call with the milk , ihad forgotten about that.

Used to use it a lot when ink was spilt in the drawing office.

I have used acetone on ink/leather to good effect.

Cheers for the replies..will try milk as its not my car, but a possible new Mrs Dicky's so don' t want to fk it up

Crazy. Mental. Acetone is horrible stuff and would work no better on ink than water and ruin the leather.

First thing to try is a small amount of saddle soap or 'Lux' flakes with warm water. If the pen marks are too ingrained then a 50/50 mix of meths or other pure alcohol and water, very quickly followed by some leather moisturiser such as Liquid Leather.

Acetone will strip the colour from the facings and dry the leather out underneath.

Acetone and WD40 are the two 'turn to's for complete idiots who don't know basic chemistry.

I have tried baby wipes & milk to no avail. I have found an old bottle of soft leather cleaner that seems to be making some difference, but I think I can honestly say that the leather sofa will never be the same after Petit Picasso's latest work with black biro! Lesson learnt
