Running a radiator pipe through a formed concrete slab
Discussion
Hi All,
I need to add a new radiator to the lounge, it is an extension to the house and has a concrete floor.
I am planning to cut a channel to run the pipes accross the room (no other way as we have a sliding door in the way), but have a couple of questions:
1. How deep should the channel be?
2. Do I just fill the channel with concrete? or will it crack with the heat as it won't be very thick? Would a levelling compound be better? or anything else?
I am having engineered wood floor laid over it, so heat to the floor shouldn't be an issue. I know that I will need to ensure that the moisture content needs to be no more than 8%.
Thanks,
