Single-stroke petrol jackhammer - faulty carburetor?
Discussion
Edit: I mean single cylinder, two-stroke, obviously.
I have a cheap Chinese jackhammer, it starts up and after two or three minutes at the most, it stops totally. Someone said it was the carburetor, but I haven't got the machine in hand (it is in Indonesia, I am in the UK), but does that make sense?
They were saying they couldn't find the replacement carburetor, spec is H119-6A-00-210 (don't know if all those numbers are significant). Would it be likely that the carb is indeeed knackered? As I understand they have tried to take it to a village repair man (has tools but almost no parts) and it doesn't work for more than a few hours before breaking down again.
Is it likely possible to repair or clean? Or do these things wear out fairly quickly? And can you find a different carb based on spec or is it limited to the same part number>

Wrong section really.
Generally if carbs don't work it won't start or run properly.
I'd suggest if it starts and runs fine then it's not the carb (although could be carb icing in cold weather)
Generally things running for a few mins and stopping are due to coils failing IME.
When it stops is there still a spark at the plug ?

I will ask them to check. Weather doesn't go below 20 Celsius ever, so not likely to be ice
This is the manual

Are ignition coils something that are fairly standard and replacaeble with a part from a local Honda/Yamaha moped? Or is it going to be a specific Chinese part as well?

it seems a common Chinese design.

But no idea if it's copied off someone else's.
you can get starter assemblies (not sure if they would work) but the cost is pretty much the same as an entire new Chinese jackhammer! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Starter-Complete...
or just get a third party generic assembly from a lawnmower??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RECOIL-PULL-START-STARTE... or generator? there are definitely plenty of cheap petrol generators there.
