Fault finding - dishwasher circulation pump
Discussion
Morning
I assume this is the right forum - if not mods please move.
My 2 year old Indesit dishwasher is playing up. The main circulation pump (that spins the arms round) is doing nothing.
The machine fills, empties and heats normally. It's not throwing up any error codes for a faulty pump. I've opened it's hatch up underneath, and all the plugs are in place, and wiring looks sound.
I have a multimeter, but I don't really know how to start fault finding on this. If it was a car, I'd get the wiring diagram and look for power, continuity etc.
I would welcome any ideas?
Note: a cheap replacement is £220, a mid level Bosch about £390, a new recirc pump on amazon is £75 and a repair man likely to be £60 + VAT + parts. I would rather cut my losses and replace than throw money into speculative repairs, but woudl prefer to do some fault finding first.
thanks
Ian
