We bought a glass splashback and fitted it at the weekend, using their recommend adhesive. But you can see where we have glued through the glass. Any iideas to whats the problem.

Is the glass just glass, or did it have a backing layer (which should have hidden the glue)?

Assuming the splashback is reverse splayed glass.
If the adhesive has reacted with the paint and shows through, then the wrong adhesive has been used.

If the adhesive was supplied by the glass company, then its down to them to remedy the problem.

If you have bought the adhesive that they recommend, then they should still support you in rectifying the issue.

If you have chosen your own silicone / adhesive, then its your issue.,

We have our glass splash backs foiled back, like a mirror to hide the adhesive.

They supplied the adhesive as guarantee would be void if it wasn't used. The company that we got it from won't communicate via a phone call, only email.
Are they easy to take off the wall?

It should have been clear glass with a green opaque layer on the back.

I was given clear 'low modulus silicone' for mine and it worked perfectly.

I would also say wrong glue.

We were working on a large hotel refit the bathroom fitters used normal silicone to fix the large full wall mirrors above the vanities.

A few months later you could see various outlines of letters, smiley faces and big spunking dicks where the backing was being eaten away by the silicone.
A very costly mistake by them, 20 odd ensuites!

You should have just sent it back to them when you saw it was the wrong colour.
