I don't understand how people can say baths are relaxing. I had my first bath in ten years this week (don't worry I have showered instead!).

Firstly the time it takes to run...can't just jump in. Takes planning! Then you have to mess around with the temp. I failed badly at this and burnt my ball sack as I lowered myself in. Quite sensitive aren't they?

I overfilled it as well. So I'm in the bath. Burning my bks, with water dripping over the edge and going down the overfill making a horrible noise.

Turns out baths aren't made for tall people. I'm six foot four (and a half), I can either have my legs under and my torso out, or my torso under and my knees sticking out. I went for knees sticking out.

Then the fun part of trying to wash my hair...how the fk do you do it? I wiggled down...my legs now at a 90 degree angle...I'm glad my girlfriend didn't walk in. Head goes under...I forgot I can't breath and get a load of water up my nose. Knob.

Back up. Shampoo on hair and beard. Back under I go. The sodding suds are staying around my face, so whenever I come back up I'm getting a face full of it in my eyes.

So, burning bks. Burning eyes from the shampoo. Next is to wash my body...shower gel is applied. Again impossible to wash off without the suds getting back on. Sod it, I'll wipe them off with the towel. Which I've left in the bedroom. Brilliant.

How do I get out? I pull the plug and let the water drain out. I'm cold. Freezing in fact. I stand up and drip dry enough to walk to the bedroom to get my towel.

I'm never having a bath again. I'll rather be a smelly fker for two days.

How on earth can anyone enjoy baths?! Plus I didn't feel clean after.

I had baths for years and always thought showers were a bit rubbish. I guess this was after years at a boys school where showers were taken under pre-war plumbing. My first couple of houses only had baths.

How times (and plumbing) have changed. I can't honestly remember the last time I had a bath.

I don't get it either.

I get in:
'fk me it's redders'.
I adjust temperature:
'fk me it's overflowing."
I get out:
'fk me that was wasteful."

I shower: 'lovely-jubbly!'

Baths are for women. Showers for men. Thought everyone knew this?

A shower is quick and practical. A bath is for relaxing, sit quietly for 20 minutes with a beer and no earachesmile

bks ... love a bath

It's simple ... set the taps leave to run while sorting a drink (Gin and pink grapefruit)

Get in and relax

Showers are for mornings imho

I can't be arsed with baths, too much fanny on and ultimately less satisfying than a shower. A big part of thing comes from not really fitting in bath tubs, even at 6 foot I'm not exceptionally tall. Bath tubs just seem to be made for women and small men.

Baths couldn't be simpler or more enjoyable. Start running bath, sit down on toilet for a dump, read magazine / book / whatever, when bath looks half full put cold on, finish defecation drills, test water temp, keep cold running until temp is right, drain excess water if necessary, get in, carry on reading, wash, get out, lovely.

Can't take a no-wipe dump before a bath either.

i suffer with a lot of aches and pains and a bath does appear to help. although i have to admit that the last time i attempted to have a bath i managed to burn both of my feet.that was in march, i still have not fully recovered.

Baths come in different sizes. "Normal" baths are too small for PH directors.

Baths aren't for washing your hair. They're an excuse for getting wet and naked with your other half. See first point about getting a larger bath.

You have a st whilst having a shower? How utterly disgusting. Have a word with yourself.

Bath quality depends heavily on its size.

Small bath = bad.
Big bath = good.

Like a big shower, a big bath is more relaxing. Less cramped and less stressful.

Get a smart-bath with digital temperature control. The right water temp makes a big difference.
