Hi folks,
Just coming toward the end of the build of a new double garage. It will be a workshop garage, i.e. I will be maintaining and restoring cars in there.
I'm looking for advice on the best floor covering to go over the reinforced concrete floor slab that has just been laid.

I want something that will seal the concrete so none of that concrete dust when you sweep it out, plus seal against fuel / oil / brake fluid spills etc.
It needs tough enough to withstand jacks and axle stands, smooth enough to roll a jack around on and preferably a gloss finish to help reflect light up into the chassis for when I'm working or inspecting underneath.

Any ideas. There seem to be floor tiles (ceramic and rubber), paints, sealants etc.

Has anyone any experience of a good garage floor covering, preferably with pics please.

Thanks.

I have just sorted the garage and covered the floor with Coba interlocking tiles from Screwfix.
Ok they aren’t shiny and maybe not withstand axle stands but I use sheet wood or rubber to load spread so not to damage the tiles.
Resistant to oils etc. Maintenance free too.

Porcelain floor tiles, it's what most decent workshops will use.

Epoxy floor paint - people can have problems but that's usually poor prep on old floors

Or tiles as mentioned above

A granulated liquid rubber application to a colour of your choice.

It can be applied at various strengths to take heavy traffic etc.

I have been planning to use these tiles: https://www.directtilewarehouse.com/dotti-anti-sli... which have been recommended on PH before. Come in a few colours.

If I go for a cheaper option, I will go for Epoxy floor paint.

I also considered a resin floor but this was more expensive than tiles.

Costco. I got them on a hot buy for £800. They are now £1800. eek

The company who makes them is New Age. They are nice units though.

Timja i have dotti anthracite floor tiles for my bike garage. Couldnt be happier- they are non slip and i can ride my bikes in with wet wheels and never once had an issue. Only cost around £190 from direct tile warehouse for a single garage too! (Got them in a sale) Very very happy with them! Also bought new age cabinets from costco- great value for money fully welded lockable with ball bearing slides/ bought for £800 in (you guessed it) another sale! Attached are a few pics for you. 24 gauge! They are more than sturdy enough! Couldnt justify the extra money in pro setup- go for bold caninets- they are brilliant!
