Definitely a Mumsnet question, but, the wife mentioned this the other day and said there are women at her work that wash their bath towels once per week.

Ours are washed every 2 or 3 uses, which is backed up by this article:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/how-often-sh...

article says - How often: Bath towels should be washed after every three uses, insists Philip Tierno, New York based microbiologist.

I prefer to air dry, let it all hang out. Just walk round the house for half an hour like that and sorted.

Does make things a bit awkward when the mother in law is staying..

After every use, need to get that huge brown stripe out that always appears after drying.

When the ingrained funk reaches the evolutionary point of sentience and attacks the cat. At the minimum, when I have to shut the door to stop the towel escaping.

This.

Much better for the skin too.

The Mrs changes her towels (bath and hair) every 2nd or 3rd use normally.

You reuse bath towels? Don't fresh ones simply appear?

I'd re-use my own towel once, maybe twice, but I'd never use someone else's 'used' towel
