Working at a client's house today fitting a new ridge on a lean to over a well. Casually asked the client how deep the well is just through curiosity. 120 feet she says yikes, wish I hadn't asked. Only had a flimsy mesh over it with 2 inch holes in.

Has anyone got a deeper hole on their property?

Maybe they could fill the hole with people who are obsessed by bad grammar.

120 feet! I'm amazed they ever bothered digging it.

We have a well in our boot room which has a cast concrete slab over it, I plan to expose the well in the spring but I hope to Christ it isn't 120ft deep!

At one of my previous houses we had a well that was also covered over, when I exposed it we measured it at 30ft deep. However - years later we discovered that it had been covered over due to the previous owner's Great Uncle committing suicide down it in the 1930's. Grim.

Better to suspend from the wellhead; leave them 120ft above their death as dangling participles.

What an awful way to kill yourself, what if you didn't die on impact and instead bled out or starved, dehydrated alone in the dark in agony. Hope to hell his corpse wasn't left there all that time, creepy.

Is having a well common?? Can’t think I’ve ever met anyone with a well on their property, guess round here that just cements me as council!

It's sad but that's what happens when you listen to Chris Evans on Radio 2.

The parents have got a well in their garden. It's against a boundary wall and the pump for it is on he other side.
