We're just about to get our bathroom back, and it looks great.

The bathroom company has installed a QX Genesis stone resin acrylic capped tray.

My concern is that it looks bloody slippery. (haven't got to try it out yet)

Having used rubber bath mats for years and hated them, I'm looking for recommendations for alternative methods of making it safer.

Are the stick-on patches any good?

Don’t do anything until you’ve tried it. I’ve got very shiny smooth modern shower trays in my house and whilst they look like they should be incredibly slippery, they’re not at all. They must have some sort of trick coating that allows water to run off but provides slip resistance. I don’t know what brand these are as they were installed by the builders but the Mira tray I had it my last house has similar slip resistance but the finish was more matt than these.

I’d be careful with mats - the only time I’ve slipped in a shower was in a holiday let in Spain and the mat slid as I stepped in. It was far better without.

I asked the same question on here about 6 months ago and the only response was this link:

Not tried it as yet, making do with a transparent mat for the moment.

I really wouldn't worry about it, it will be fine!

Our's is a wetroom with a tiled floor, after bleaching/cleaning it, it can be slippy but that quickly wears off after a couple of uses!

Unless your putting fairy liquid all over your feet and going for a shower dance, I can't see why it would be slippy. Those rubber mats are more dangerous than anything.

The only time iv slipped in a bathroom was wearing roller blades as a kid and broke every tile on the floor... 25 years on and in still reminded.

You simply can't say that. You have no way of knowing it will be fine or otherwise.

My JT Fusion tray is like an ice rink once it's got water on it. Other trays may or may not be slippery when wet. YMMV.
