Firstly I live in a 2 bed flat on my own, I am useless at vacuuming, im lucky if I manage to do so one a month or 2!

So thinking of getting a robot to do the job, so it can go around once every few days or so while I am at work.

Im thinking I would rather spend a bit more on one that maps the place, rather than just random vacuuming until the battery dies.

Also I would like to be able to set no go area's on the app, for example, this area of my lounge:

I would hate for it to knock over a guitar, plus it would just get stuck in my cabling...
However I could tidy up every now and again and let it do this area.

So my research has brought me to the Evovacs Deebot Ozmo 930, and seems to have decent reviews.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0758QCFHC/ref...

My only concern would be going from the bathroom and kitchen from laminate flooring back onto carpet there is a 1-1.5mm riser for it to climb, this is one issue the reviews do highlight, however I don't know how big a climb other people were expecting it do do!

So has anyone got one of these?, or a different model they would recommend?

I've got a Eufy Robovac 11c (I think)

It generally does a great job, but if you leave things like guitar leads, shoelaces (the cat has some that she plays with) or things like the cords from a set of blinds that hang on the floor, lying loose without picking them up, it'll try and eat them, then stop, then send you a text to tell you it needs help.

Mine has also eaten a few plectrums.

Worth it though, does a great job and saves me the hassle.

Thanks, I did look at the Eufy, but my concern with the random direction type is how they manage to make it into each room, if they don't know where they are??

This is my floorpan, and would have his "home" in the hallway above the stairs.

Yeah, it just randomly wanders about, if you leave the door open, it'll go into that room.

If you leave something on the floor, it'll try and eat it.

Doesn't do 'zones' and doesn't 'learn', but it cost me £180 and it does a great job, a lot better than I thought it would to be fair.

I think someone posted about it on the frivolous thread a few months ago, that's where I got the idea. Few people there seemed to think they were good, but not as fancy as the one you're looking at.

That is a decent price, sounds interesting! Any idea how it manages if it comes across any damp (eg, some spilled water in a kitchen!?) ?

Like the sound of the all-singing, all dancing, all cleaning Ecovacs, but at more than 2x the cost, I'm not sure my man-maths would justify it....& having 50% laminate here, perhaps the cleaning would be wasted, don't think we would want that wetting!

+1 for neato, I have a D5 connected which maps and software updates give it virtual no go zones. It has eaten a micro usb cable and ruined it, gets stuck every so often but a good bit of kit.
