Best adhesive to fix cistern lid?
Discussion
Hi, had a minor disaster and a glass shelf fell onto the toilet cistern below.
Shelf is fine, but the cistern lid hasn't faired so well.
As it's just a cover and isn't subject to any stress etc, I'm hoping to be able to fix it.
The lif is cracked in several places, which won't really show, but there are some pieces which have cracked an come off.
Question is ... what's the best adhesive to attempt repair with?
Instant Grab like Sticks like S*** / No More Nails etc ?
Two part Epoxy ?
Superglue (gel) ?
Most of the repair will be to the back and the left hand side, so not particularly visible and it's the the main bedroom's en-suite bathroom so not going to be seen by visitors / guests etc.

Super glue is best on non-porous surfaces.
For ceramic I'd go for a two part epoxy.
Porosity is exactly why superglue works so well for ceramics. The the surface area contact keeps getting bigger as the runny superglue is drawn in to the air gaps. Epoxy will sit on the bonded surface and squeegee out when clamped. With superglue it will keep sucking more and more into the crack with capillary action. Keep applying it to the crack after clamping, and it'll get sucked in.For ceramic I'd go for a two part epoxy.
Once cured (in a warm place), wipe off excess with acetone.
Re assemble it so you can read the make and code numbers inside the lid. Also record the numbers inside the of the cistern. Take this information to a reclamation yard to get a replacement. Also try the likes of eBay.
You may well be able to glue it back together but in time dirt will collect in the cracks and look bad.
