is my neighbour messing with my pump? wifi cam inconclusive

I've got a water tank in my garden that keeps emptying itself via the end coming off the pump. Every time its removed it empties 5000 litres of my water into the ground. From asking around everyone reckons this is being deliberately removed:
Would it be fair to assume that can't come off itself undamaged?
Anyway hidden camera set up on the roof but far back so that it hopefully can't be seen. The water pump is in that little shed, my bloody dogs keep setting off the camera. Every time they take a s
t I get a notification on my phone.
the cap came off my pump again today but the camera didnt catch anything. It uploads to the cloud when it detects movement.
Is someone messing with this or is it coming off itself. If the former, what's my next move

Is there some kind of non-drying paint you can put on it?
It might not prove who it is but if you check and it's smeared it might show that some human hand has been in contact.
It's not possible that it's some kind of vibration making it undo by itself, is it?
It looks like water is a reasonably scarce commodity where you are.

They're my dogs, that's my roof. But yes tomorrow I'll try and find a better place to put it. I was trying to keep it further back to keep it less visible. If someone is tampering with it I don't want to put them off, I want to catch them

I asked a couple of friends and they were both adamant it couldn't work itself loose. If it didnt happen itself then the only other logical answer is its one of the neighbours. I live in a tiny setup of maybe a dozen houses, in the middle of nowhere (couple of kilometres from nearest town)eliot said:

Yup, the land its situated on is mines, as is the building I'm filming from. but there is a public walkway between them.Smiler. said:
If it was mine, I'd add the anti-tamper & carry on with the filming. Assume there's power in the shed, could you locate the camera inside? WiFi might be an issue though.
I did think it was just a wire running under the path straight to the pump so the camera couldn't go in there. But I checked tonight and there is a plug up high, powering the pump. so I just need a double plug and it can be hid in there. Wifi from there should be fine, its maybe 10 metres and 1 brick wall.How long between tightening fully up until losing the water.
Chances are it isn’t the neighbour and vibration over a period of time, unless there is a current dispute with neighbour that is making you think it could be them.
Tighten up cap, mark a line across both sides, check regularly and see if it is backing off over a period of time.

Get some security wire and make a cage around the cap.
Make a 12" long twisted strand, wrap it around the pipe behind the thread then 2 more lengths 6" long, twisted strand.
Then loop them round the rear most part and twist with pliers till its tight.
The only way to get it off will be to cut the wire.
