Ongoing PITA with House No. / Name

We have signs, labels, notified companies, left notes on deliveries with specific instructions, bins labelled with our addresses, and yet still... it persists.
As much as we swap post to a certain degree. I don't want my health, financial, employment information being sent to random people.
Any ideas on how we can resolve this. Not amongst ourselves, the houses, but with Google, or the Post Office, of GPS, or Satan...
I've had a redirect for a year but that only works with Royal Post, and I cannot extend it. Even if I could, random delivery companies etc will still struggle. Also considered a PO Box but that's not so good for your Friday chuckout.

You can’t have only a name if your building is already numbered. But you can add a name.
A HUGE sign with 73 Letsby Avenue on and in smaller font underneath "Flat 1 & 2, 73 Letsby Avenue opposite".
My sister had this problem. There was an old established 20 Letsby Avenue, and when they built her house opposite they called it Letsby Terrace, Letsby Avenue. She was new number 20 Letsby Terrace, Letsby Avenue and it didn't help that old 20 Letsby Avenue was directly opposite. So she had a big sign made.

I had and actually still have to a lesser degree the exact same problem . I ended up naming the house as I'm no. 3 and there's also a flat 3 in the apartment block at the end of the street .
The drivers still get it wrong as they're always in a hurry . Many times I've had to retrieve parcels and post from apartment 3 or drop theirs off . I'm guessing the drivers rely on postcodes then drop at the first opportunity. A lot of drivers also don't speak English as their first language either .

I'm number 1, The house next to me is number 1 and there's another three 1s and a 1a within 50 yards. My Road has an equivalent Street 50 yards the other way, which has a number 1 as well.
Luxury I tell you. Luxury.

This is what we did , the council suggested "stone Cottage" as it is a Cottage and there wasn't anything like that name nearby . It's a 1930s brick built White rendered Cottage ! Rosie cottage / white cottage / the wee house etc etc.
Still doesn't quite work as I've caught a few deliverys and the normal question is " so it's not flat three ? "

We sold a house recently. During the sale the buyer’s solicitor asked for an electrical certificate for a specified date. We had no electrical work done. I queried this with Building Regs at the council. The girl sent me a list they had received via the electrical certifying body of registered certs. There was an error in the address. They had our postcode instead of that for the actual house where the work was done. This house was 100 yards away and in a different postcode. I pointed this out to Building Regs who corrected their database. Funnily enough we remembered a couple of infrequent misdirected post items for this house. Our regular Postman sorted put a lot of poorly addressed stuff. Couriers, though were less capable.
Attention to detail often falls by the wayside.
For a while I worked for Mori visiting addresses for surveys. Finding correct properties was sometimes a right pain. Badly numbered, poorly signed streets, most common.

It can be very difficult. We are number 2, flat 2 with a flat 1 upstairs (don't ask), next door is 2a which has now been subdivided into a load of flats and beyond that is 2c. We live in the Street but have the Gardens just up the road with a number 2 and a block of flats at 22. There are also some redundant business addresses on the PO database associated with our property.
And we are having the devil's own job shaking off the
ish spivs who run Scottish Power because they were too sloppy to record meter details on a next door property in the first place and are now too lazy to correct them. I receive monthly threats that they will be applying to the court to break in and change my meter. And don't get me going on TV Licensing...

First point of call will be your local Council, it is they why control street naming and the numbering of properties, and they who then liaise with the Post Office etc. Any ideas on how we can resolve this. Not amongst ourselves, the houses, but with Google, or the Post Office, of GPS, or Satan...
