Post bashed recommendations

We have a 4 acre field need to replace the fencing, thinking of buying a post basher, one of those with a petrol motor that’s placed over the post....not attached to a tractor....does anyone have any recommendations. Budget of up to £500.....thanks

If you have any neighbours with a tractor with a bucket, a JCB with a back hoe or a telehandler - use that with their help. Ground should be nice and soft so posts will be pushed In quickly. Stand back as the post gets driven in - they can sometimes shatter under the hydraulic force. You’ll get a lot done in a very short time.

The little petrol post knockers you’re on about are only really any good for 2” stakes and clipex metal posts. Anything bigger they’re not much good!

Depending on ground conditions, if you can’t find anyone with use of a post knocker, a 5t digger will push 4” rounds in without much drama, you would likely still need to dig for the strainers though.
