The problem with skips is, no matter how ethically you fill the thing (after irritating every neighbour to move their car so the damn thing can be put in the street) - some toerag will come and dump any crap they like in the skip which is not permitted by lifting the tarpaulin in the middle of the night. £400 for the damn thing, best fill it as soon as it arrives 
i'm sure re-cycling centres could re-open with all the restrictions still in place and make money.
I got a fridge sitting on my stairwell that the highway robbers at the council want £35 to take away, but they have suspended
all uplift services.
I'll just tie it to the back of my car and during the hours of darkness scrape it along to the nearest place I can dump it.
If the govt. and local councils want to suspend freedoms and normalcy then they have to clear up the shi te afterwards.

Charged me £80 for the lot, load and remove
He arrived back at the house 3hrs later, the recycling depot he uses refused to take any of it as it “may be asbestos” ... wouldn’t accept that that both the sets of birds had branding on them and neither brand uses asbestos.
He unloaded the lot on my drive and fked off ... no refund or anything.
I rang the local tip and they said they’d take the lot, in a car, £20, I thought the suspension might give out but thankfully it didn’t. Wish I’d just sorted it myself earlier tbh. No way I’d use a skip or those rubbish/clearance cowboys either.

I have two skips hired at the minute, 8 yard ones - when the driver dropped them off (after lockdown) he saw I had a few old tyres sitting there - and said that tyres weren't allowed in skips - with a wink, and then said "But nobody is doing any recycling at the minute, so, just put them at the bottom, eh?"
This is in NI, I think everything is just going to landfill at the minute. £200 for a skip for pretty much as long as you want to keep it.
The company's website says plasterboard is allowed if it is bagged and put at the top, clearly labelled - but at the minute I don't think they are even worrying about that. I had a few bright red rubble sacks full of it in the last one he picked up and he didn't look twice. Fairly small local company but well known and not the fly-tipping type - they take it to another, bigger company (McKinstry Skips) who have a big recycling plant. But the impression I got is that currently I can pretty much throw in whatever I like, they aren't complaining!

It's the same with my local tip. A few years ago i could - in several boot-fulls - dispose of my entire old bathroom. But now, to get rid of a small bag of cement, or a one old window, they want me to drive 20 miles to another tip. Very environmentally friendly.Tyres

Well at least the virus has knocked her off the news. And single-use plastic seem to be very popular suddenly... because 'green' is a luxury you only get to play with when everything else is working.Only the "landfill" stuff - it's meant to be sorted through and recycled where possible.
