With the impending lack of holidays coming I’m thinking the unthinkable of buying a piss bubbler. So has anyone got any recommendations? Big enough for 4 adults(family so no pampas grass needed) and cat claw safe. Is it doable for £500 or am I better off with a paddling pool a a chicken naga?

Think you’re missing an additional zero TBH.

I thought that too, just hoping someone would come up with a man-math solution that would make £1500 sound like a good idea

There’s a really long running thread in the homes and garden section all about this

We have an Intex PureSpa 4 person and it gets used daily ... wouldn’t be without one now and when it dies will be sorting a more traditional full-sized sex pond.

Never seen the appeal of these. Cost a fortune to run and the novelty has got to rub off pretty quickly. A bit council too....

I thought the same as you tbh.

All I'd suggest if you have the right environment for it, is to try. Then you can make your opinion, based on experience.

I thought the same till about 15 years ago when we got one. Novelty still hasn't worn off and £2/day isn't really that much for something that's working away 24/7. Other opinions are available.

Does the sex pond come with a free pampas grass?

Costco sell them at good prices. You will need to spend a few grand rather than a few hundred but they also deliver and install. I’d love one if I could spare the money. Sitting in one while drinking and talking st is great. You just have to make sure you have clean friends as I went on holiday once with a few others, we rented a villa that had a tub. One of my mates is a right dirty bd and goes for days without showering. After he’d used the tub for a couple of days there was a film of scum on the top and it was unusable for the rest of the holiday.

I know a few people who have them.

I can see the appeal after a day of skiing or hard outdoor activity, but after a tough day sitting down at a desk, why would you want to?

Ps. It is a cliché, but I'm always put in mind of a Louis Theroux Weird Weekends episode about Californian swingers.

We got an inflatable one (Lazyspa Miami) a few years ago on a whim because holidays were limited due to family circumstances. It's a hell of a lot better than it should be for £300 (iirc) and makes the "proper" ones look very expensive.

Whether you can get one now is a different question.

Our house has a pool and hot tub that were there when we moved in. The pool self doses and is great. It gets used several days a week.

The hot tub is a royal pain in the arse. Constantly needing stuff adding to it to stop it killing the countless people who never use it. When all's said and done I don't want to share a bath with the kids/their friends or any of my family and friends. Anyone who does is weird, frankly.

Horrible things, pain to keep the correct pH/chlorine/hardness/bks. I wouldn't have another, in fact I'm pushing to get rid of the one I have.

We've got an inflatable Laz-Z-Spa. We've had it 5 years and it's been fine, surprisingly good longevity. If you went out and wanted to spend £500 on one you'd be fine. Finding one at the moment might be tricky!

A luke warm, bubbling soup of dead skin, scabs, hair and bodily fluids that requires a degree in chemistry to prevent dead bodies being added to the list.

I've three chums that had / have them and each regret the decision.

Each to their own.

Thanks for the helpful (and some less) advice. Pretty much what I expected smile for those that mentioned pampas, I put it in the OP. I’ve found a couple of “Canadian Spa” efforts that fit the bill and will do the job as a water filled drinking hub
