Where is my drill?

About a year ago I did some DIY using my drill.

I remember putting it somewhere and thinking this is a bad idea - I will forget where I have put it.

Well I was right. I cannot find the bloody thing.

Any top tips for stupid places!

I did some work up in my loft once and left my drill up there?

No idea why, I'm usually quite particular when it comes to putting things away.

Have you looked somewhere, that's where you said you put it.

What DIY were you doing, that might give us a clue.

That's just reminded me, a friend (really) fitted some built in wardrobes; his cordless drill appeared about a year later (packed away in its box) buried under a pile of towels in one of the cupboards he'd built...

Lost a pair of mole grips for good few months once. My mot tester found them attached to a nut underneath my gt6 holding the seat in. I had used them to unable me to hold the nut in place about 3 months before the mot. Must have driven miles with them there.

I removed a stud wall and found a claw hammer inside.

There's a space behind the desk drawers, it may be a tight fit for a pistol drill but that's where I found the handbook, service history and spare keys for my TVR some years after I'd given them up for lost.

Whenever I lose my sunglasses I invariably find them perched on top of my head.

Have you looked there for your drill?

Years ago I was looking over an empty office space for a potential company move, lifted a raised floor tile to check space for laying cabling and found a Hilti 110V drill in its box ... can’t be the OP’s though ... not cordless.

Buy a new drill.

The old drill will reappear shortly.

If you find it, please post the answer, it might give me a clue where my vernier caliper is - I put it down in the garage and when I looked round it had gone, that was months ago!

Assistant site manager at work swore blind he'd not received a delivery of a whole pallet of ceramic floor tiles.

Until I dug out the delivery note, with his signature on. He then suddenly remembered he'd put them on top of a container out of the way, as the delivery was earlier than he needed it...

The appropriate response to anything that can't be found on site is now, "have you checked on top of the containers?"
