Landlord certificate EICR what should this cost?

Unfortunately my normal spark has rudely decided to move 300 miles away so not really viable to get him back to do these certificates.

Does any one have a rough guide on price for the Landlord certificate EICR? Properties are in the south east.

Don't want to go through the agents ideally and paid their additional on top.

We had a variety of quotes, all of which were more than the EA preferred supplier. We went for that option, then suffered the failure and rectification charges.

We should've just paid the extra £100 our regular sparky wanted.

I have been paying £125. Thats a 1 bed flat in West London. I think he is a bit greedy. Chap in Bracknell quoted me £75 but doesn't answer the phone.
They can't all do it so the ones who do seem to be taking liberties.
Sparkies, the good ones are great but too busy, the bad ones greedy and available.

Isn't the going rate £125 plust the cost the new CU that you're going to need?

We pay £100 but usually get a number of them done at the same time. That's midlands.

I just booked an electrician to change the CU, then do the EICR. Was £450 (Inc VAT).

we look after about 350 properties and generally the EICR is about £100 to £140 in the SE but it depends on size of property and how many circuits - if its been extended a number of time it will be more time consuming.

Needed a new CU. Then again I knew it was at least 32 years old.

Test was £120, CU was £400. Not bad for London.

Just need to sort one now for a tenant who doesn't allow access. CP12 took 6 months to arrange

I think ours was £150 ish including vat. That was through the agent. Couldn't be bothered organising and getting access through the tenants.

CU is only about four years old, so they didn't even try suggesting a replacement!

I was bummed by my letting agent for £186 inc VAT each for two 2 bed flats in Surrey.

One passed, but the other 'needed' a RCD for bathroom lights. Cost £271 inc VAT.

Maximum 0.75 pence.

Don't forget to add the vat.

Estate agents I do some work for are charged £65 a board plus £25 a circuit plus expenses including parking and con charge.

My estate agent wanted £118 for initial charge and then £27 per circuit, worked out as £307. Think they expected me to just pay it, maybe others do.

First electrician I called quoted £160 - 2 bed house.

I'm now using an electrician who is a friend of a friend and he quoted £130, but the CU is very old and he is now replacing and doing the EICR for £380.

£90 in Worcester for a 1980's built one bed flat. Plus £300 to change a CU.

Won't do one for less than 150inc for a modest property

Be careful there's a lot of bandits out there making hay in light of the new rules, issuing worthless certs and comical improvement charges (with threats to "report" I'm told)

some charge less but the industry has a penchant for a "cheap test, foot in the door, make it back on remedials" attitude.

Just texted my guy. £50 for EICR and £25 for PAT. (in fairness, the agency gives him industrial quantities of them to do so he's maybe dearer for one-offs).)
