Growing tomatoes
Discussion
A friend gave me this as a house warming gift: https://www.plant-theatre.co.uk/wacky-tomato-kit.h...
I've followed the instructions and my pots now look like the below.
The instructions say that when there are two true leaves, they need to be put into their own pots......but they look so delicate I'm convinced I'll destroy them if I try and do this. Am I too early? Or do I need to go for it?

They're just over a week old, and had been in little ziplock bags that covered the pots.....I took them out just now.
Instructions suggest on the windowsill but not direct sunlight: https://www.plant-theatre.uk/downloads/sowing-and-...
You think they need more sun?

If they've only just come out of bags they'll be very delicate and quick to wilt. Not full sun but softened with net curtain for example. Keep a close eye on them until they've toughened up a bit.Instructions suggest on the windowsill but not direct sunlight: https://www.plant-theatre.uk/downloads/sowing-and-...

Ahhh ok, thank you, that makes sense. No, not me, it's what you do when you pot them up. As someone else said, make sure they get plenty of light but they're too young to put out yet even if protected (unless you have a heated greenhouse). If you have a sun-trap spot in the garden and can rig up some sort of clear polythene protection (a makeshift greenhouse) they can go out there in a few weeks and you should get a decent crop.
Homegrown tomatoes are the best!

Oh wow, long way to go yet for mine then!
Mine are only slightly ahead of yours. If you've not got a greenhouse then don't worry. I'd wait for another pair of proper leaves to develop then put them into their own pots. There's no need to buy pots, juice containers and the like cut down with some holes in the bottom work fine, as do yoghurt pots. Put them in a really useful storage box once potted, just inside some patio doors work well until they're big enough to go into bucket sized pots outside. Don't put them out until there's no chance of frost.MY 6 plants are currently starting to show some tomatoes, nothing ripe enough yet.
But a couple of my plants have a lot of shrivelled, dead or dying leaves lower down. They are looking rather sorry for themselves, but they do have some flowers still further up. Is this normal? Can't help feeling something isn't right with at least those two plants as they do look rather sorry for themselves. Not sure what I will have done wrong, with the rain we've been having it can't be lack of water, and I gave them a good watering yesterday with some tomato feed as well......

Probably a lack of nutrient. Mine are doing the same during a hot summer I would be watering and feeding but with this much rain they are soaked and I’m not feeding. Tomatoes obviously aren’t used to so much rain!
Are they doomed, or I'll still get something out of them? Can't believe how much worry my first attempt at growing is causing me ha haThey sound like they're way behind, hope you like green tomato chutney. There are plenty of guides in books and online on how to grow things, you need to digest one of those really.
They need full sun all day, usually in a greenhouse for a successful crop.
Although you haven't put much effort into describing or picturing what you've done so it's difficult to comment accurately....
