Does the UK weather bother you?

I'm 36 and the older I get the more I am struggling with the UK weather. It is so miserable most of the year, either windy, rainy, cloudy and grey or days where it is nice, are just one offs, or for part of the day.
I know friends that aren't bothered at all by this, but it really brings me down. The sun and bright days always make me feel upbeat, positive, energised, etc.
Where as I usually get up hearing the wind outside, or look outside to see rain, or just grey overcast skies.
My question then is, does the UK weather bother you as much as it does me? Would you live abroad in a warmer climate (or different climate) if you could?

I'm late 50s and every year I hate it more and more.
Always seems nice when I'm at work stuck in freezing AC but awful when I have a day off.
This Spring has been fuggin cold, so effing cold.
Thanks to Covid all breaks in the past year and a half have been in the UK.
Last July in Cornwall. Cold, sideways rain and the thickest fog I have ever seen outside deepest winter.
August in Devon. Rain and mud, oh and cold.
Sept in the Lakes. My first visit, amazing place but cold, very wet and hail, oh and mud.
Just been to the Norfolk Broads on a boat. Minus 2 at night and too cold with an evil wind making sailing with the canopy down impossible.
Off to Shropshire next week. I'm not bothering looking at the forecast.

Dont mind it day to day, but fkin covid has meant i have to now holiday in it this year, and i hate holidays with the unprediactability of the UK weather. I've been on ONE successful british holiday where the weather was belting, out of at least 10-15.
Last time sat in an ovepriced caravan in Cornwall for a week whilst the wind tested the strength of the tethers, the garden furniture got blown clean off the veranda and glass table smashed. Rain belting off the roof all night most nights.
Staycations are, on the whole, fking miserable if you are a sunseeker.

We now have a guaranteed eight months of hot weather per year and tend to spend most of our time outdoors.
Being able to plan ahead without wondering if the weather's going to piss on your chips is fantastic!
I do have a chuckle when I hear the dire warnings of a couple of 30 degree days in the UK.
It's as though the UK is oblivious to the fact that the rest of the world has 30 plus degrees for months on end and the vast majority of the planet's population spend most of their lives wearing shorts and t-shirts!
We now have a guaranteed eight months of hot weather per year and tend to spend most of our time outdoors.
Being able to plan ahead without wondering if the weather's going to piss on your chips is fantastic!

Hot weather is fine for a week long summer vacation, but it's tiresome as an everyday occurrence. Once the novelty has worn off I usually stay indoors during any heatwave. Living somewhere that has 8-9 months of nothing but stupidly hot sunshine would be awful.
Not fussed about rain (apart from it making the car grubby) and the grey is just a backdrop to getting on with stuff. It's high winds that I find annoying simply because they can be disruptive.
I'd like it if the UK had more winter snow though.

It really is miserable cold, grey and rainy most of the time. I live in southern california and the weather really is a delight, most of the time. Summer can be a bit too hot for my liking at times, and it seems to last until mid November. I live pretty close to the Ocean which takes away the extremes you get as little as 10 miles inland. Snow? Skiing? About a 2.5 hr drive in the winter. Mentally hot desert (or nice and warm in the winter). About a 2 hr drive.
However the UK is absolutely marvelous in the summer when the weather is fine and you can enjoy the beautiful and varied countryside and coasts, an absolute joy. Both weeks.

I used to live in Aberdeen and the weather was pretty bad but if you move inland away from the sea it gets vastly better, I live in NE Perthshire and the weather here is usually pretty good with the added bonus of snow in the winter.All I would wish for is a few months of proper cold and snow in the winter, and a few months of proper heat in the summer.
Yup. Hate it.
Prime example - wanting to go to Beamish with the family but currently you have to book a slot weeks in advance - which I’m not prepared to do as it’s all outdoors and if it’s pissing down I’m not going.
I’m still looking at working in the UAE or US (Florida / California) to get weather I am much more comfortable with.
Plus after it rains everywhere stays sopping wet for days/weeks as it never gets warm enough to dry it off.
Even Russia has more clement weather and consistent warmer periods than us!

What’s happening to you happened to me around the same age. I know friends that aren't bothered at all by this, but it really brings me down. The sun and bright days always make me feel upbeat, positive, energised, etc.

I’m 52 now and it still bothers me but only at times ... but during my mid to late 30s it just seemed to be damp dark and bloody freezing for 300 plus days of the year.
The one I have noticed (and it was because it was pointed out to me from someone from another country who visted the UK a couple of years ago) is that it’s windy here a lot and I’m just about the furthest you can get from the coast.
Only insomuch as when it's wet for weeks on end the dog turns the garden into the Somme then brings it all inside after he's been out to do his thing. Naturally we have white tiles in the kitchen so it's a constant battle cleaning his paws before he merrily trots round the house!
The other thing is the wind, which seems to be much more prevalent than it used to be in years gone by. We have one of those cantilever brollies for the garden and it's a proper pain getting it all set up on a sunny day only for the wind to blow it all over the place. I like eating outdoors but for some reason cannot eat in direct sunlight so we need the brolly up.
But none of it's enough to make me consider moving abroad.

We find the winters drag on and on and on and on...
So much so that we usually head off to Spain in early Jan and come back in early March. Taking 2 months out of the UK winter makes it more bearable and it also greatly helps my wife who has asthma and MS.
Mind you we chose to move to west Wales so can't really complain about the rain really
