What do I need to buy to make something like this

I have an old erde trailer base that I’d like to make the following with

What do I search for on the web for the channels for the tyres to fit in

Also the frame, is there something I can buy for that and bolt together - no welding / special equipment needed.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated

Aluminium would be my choice , HE30 spec . Try a local road sign manufacturer ?

You can buy mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminium channel and square tube.

If you buy mild steel and do the cutting yourself (perhaps add a couple of fore and aft diagonal braces) , I would have thought that it wouldn't be too expensive to have it welded. Worth enquiring, anyway.

I've seen clamp together handrails - like smaller diameter scaffold - that might work for the frame.

Might be easier to buy some bike racks, as would be used in roof bars, and fasten them on? You could probably do that just by drilling and bolting into the trailer chassis.

What’s in the picture doesn’t seem to have a clamp for the frame/downtube and I would want to have something firmly - but sympathetically - securing the bike,which a ‘proper’ bike rack will have.

This seems a much better idea. That trailer doesn't look like a great way to transport bikes.

Roof bike mounts would be much easier. If struggling to fit them, then put some basic roof bars across your trailer.
