Hope someone can help here.

Found a leak from my bathroom

Ground floor onto concrete, and no access anywhere under the floor.
Went through various possibilities but its looking like its the drain connection from shower tray drain to wastewater out. The sealant is shot around it.

How can I fix this decently without ripping out a row of tiles and the shower tray?

Is there any sort of sleeve I can put in for example?

Phone shoved down the drain photo below

I think the only way to fix it properly is with access underneath, looks hideous whoever did that.

Uuurgh I hope not.
Really could do without ripping the shower apart

I’ll find a way I hope.
I’ll be very surprised if nobody else hasn’t

I'm fairly sure there shouldn't be sealant there in the first place?

yea i dunno whats gone on here.

Can't get hold of the plumber who did it. he's gonna get an earful. I only got someone in because it was time critical and i was working and needed it done. came recommended too

What is the second picture? I can't understand what that is. It doesn't look like sealant, it looks like plumbers mait or somthing?

And what is the final picture of?

If there is no access at all, I presume the waste is recessed into the concrete floor?

Nightmare.

No help to you, but I always set the tray on a plinth with access through the side. Forget the aesthetics.

The last picture of the block wall -
Where the blocks are out at the bottom, 500mm in there is the waste for the shower tray.

The floor is raised 125mm and insulated that’s how we have the waste where it is. No cutting of the concrete or anything, then it joins with the waste from a sink along a wall to the left

It could be plumbers mait. I’ve never used it so wasn’t sure.
There would have been no reason to use it as everything was fit brand new by him

Has the pipe fell off and was it held by the plumbers mate? Can you get a camera through any gap in the brick wall for a better look?

Probably not because of the underfloor insulation. But I’m getting a camera tomorrow and it can go down the shower waste.
It’s not far only a couple of inches in where the joint is, but can’t quite make out what’s gone on.
It should be tight, and should have had the pvc glue on it but not so sure

SUCCESS!

Turns out it wasn’t the dodgy shower drain, opened it up by unscrewing from the top as you can, and it was bone dry under there.

Investigated further, took the toilet surround out and the sink unit right out, and could just make out it was wet under the pipes feeding the sink, as the tiles weren’t tight to the wall because of the pipes below.
Had a closer look and could hear a hissing!

Cut a bit of tile out to get a better look and saw it was misting out of an elbow on the hot water feed.
Turned the electric heater off and drained - no more hissing.

Got the elbow off and some little teeth have been nibbling away at it.
This explains why we had the leak start 6 months after fitting the bathroom I guess.

Still need to sort that shocking shower drain out though!
