I am looking at getting a pair of robot mowers for our garden as it's split by a decking boardwalk.

The docking spot would be on view for the front area, so wanted to see about getting a really nice looking garage for the little thing.

I've seen decorative bird boxes before which looked like new england style cottages. Something like that could be a nice little feature rather than an eye sore, the kids would love it too. Also thought about making one out of the same bricks the same as the house and putting a little roof on it, but probably difficult to get it looking good compared to working with wood.

Has anyone made one or bought one? Especially any decorative ones, pls share.

I've been looking at options for a few weeks - eventually settled on a kennel that I'm going to slightly modify when it arrives some time next week. The prices of the actual garages are absolutely laughable - £220 for a plastic hut that if it was for kids dolls would be £20. I think the sellers believe that anyone who has a robot mower must be made of money and easily parted from it :-).

I've ordered this one and I'm going to tweak the front:

I declined to have my pants pulled down on this artisan moulded chinese plastic:

this finely crafted bent piece of aluminium:

and this astonishingly overpriced bit of plastic tat:

I'm in the wrong business...

I had some decking left over so I made my own. I sealed all of the joints to make it watertight and then painted it.

Could you make a garage under the decking boardwalk that splits the garden?
Could you make it so you only need one mower or are you looking forward to seeing them whizz around in tandem like pairs Ice Skaters?

Or a combined underpass/charging station, complete with 70s batcave parting undergrowth to hide the entrance.

But make sure it can't fill with water...

Very simple. Looks surprisingly good too, just couldn't justify an expensive robot house when that is all it essentially was.

Anything less than a Tesla solar roof (with matching mini Powerwall) and the neighbours would talk.

I am working on making one that is built into a raised bed, I need to finish it off and build a small driveway as the grass is wearing away. It uses a mechanical system to open/close the door.

I have seen some very fancy ones.
Ours is relatively straightforward. Allows space on top for pots....& if perchance a ne'er-do-well were to enter the garden for nefarious purposes, from the front it just looks like a raised box hehe

Some great ideas here thanks. The pics all look really good, the self lever door is smart - robot pushes it closed and open, perfect.

I have a good spot on one lawn for storing it so just now looking into maybe using one mower and moving it between areas, seems some can do that. Would miss out on the synchronised performances though!

Comment about most first world problem thread of the day is hilarious. Garage for a robot mower… lol.
