Hello

Japanese Toilets. Bidet toilets. Lazy toilets!

You sit, you do, it cleans you, it dries you, you stand. It might even have a perfectly warm seat. Even some music.

It almost sounds so good, you'll drink prune juice just to enjoy the occasion more often!

BUT
there are many options. They cost a lot. You don't know if they are in any good, until after the point that you cannot return it!

I would buy a Toto Washlet, but they are mega expensive, not sold in many places in the UK and seem to be sold at a premium price.

Anyone have one and can recommend?

Thanks

Parents have got a closomat one, it's ace. I don't know why they're not more popular, far superior to bog roll.

I have a (Relatively) cheapo one from Victoria plumbing. Been in for a year and no issues. Experience with it has been great, In fact its revolutionary!!

The only issue is, and this is more serious than you may consider. If you go away for a weekend without one, your ahole will hurt with normal technique due to lack of hardiness. This breeds a special sort of anxiety!

A bottle of water and your hand is a lot cheaper.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bundle-HAPPYPO-Toilet-Hyg...

Or if you prefer

Don't use London tap water in them or you'll get limescale round your ring.

Just fit a bum blaster - as seen throughout the Middle East and Asia. A few blasts and it's as good as new smile

My nephew's very first trip abroad on his own was to Japan.

The first communication we had back from him - hence, we assume, the thing that most impressed him on contact with this ancient culture - was a video clip of the automatic lid on the toilet in the hotel.

Can you fit just the seat to a standard close coupled toilet or is it best to change the whole unit?

Geberit Aqua Mera. Not cheap but has everything you need and 4 years in still working as intended.

We’ve got a Duravit Sensowash, which isn’t quite the full on automated Japanese number, but it does dispense with the space required for a separate bidet, albeit it is harder to wash one’s socks…

Toto Washlet is the definitive standard.

I wanted to put one when we built the extension, but we ran out of money paying for the kitchen. For the full effect, you need to get one from Japan - all the buttons marked up in Kanji, with little icons of arses with arrows. Leave the 600 page manual in Jamenese on the cistern. Let visitors crack on ....

So how much are these things anyway? When we say expensive, what are we talking?
