Is now the best time to prune and can I just cut it as below. Never really had any big trees before - not that this is very big but it's about as high as I want it to go. What is the best procedure - to trim it each year and keep it at a height you require?
It doesn’t appear to be causing any problems where it is. If you cut it it will thicken out a lot and will look ugly. My neighbour did theirs years ago it looks awful.
