More Hue stuff

I am getting a little carried away with Hue lighting and now looking at garden path pedestals. I am going to need a fair bit of extension wiring and wanted to know whether it was necessary to use the Philips Hue 2.5 m product. Price is a bit ouch given I might need 5 or 6 of them.

Anyone know whether this connector is generic?
