Feature Wall Panelling
Discussion
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had ever used this wall panelling?
https://www.naturewall.co.uk/
We're looking at the self-adhesive panels - they are 4mm thick which makes it easy to work with
Or can anyone recommend something similar, doesn't have to be self-adhesive?

A lot of the professionals won't touch the self adhesive stuff as the adhesive fails over time and then depending on the construction of the panel it can be a pain to get it off and re-stick. Lots of this sort of thing in pubs these days, I would go with the panels you like and just use the manufacturer recommended adhesive, it's usually easy to apply and instructions should be simple enough. Most just seem to use gripfill from Screwfix for DIY stuff but have to be careful it doesn't react with the panel type.

Thank you for that - my concern with the self adhesive stuff i that it won't hold pictures etc and they still have to be mounted by drilling into wallWe'd also looked at maybe putting laminate flooring or even something like Karndean Art Select ( Karndean may be a complete pain in the erse to get off though in the future)

Following this with interest - about to get a new kitchen and potentially using a similar panelling on the kitchen unit doors and wall, for a nice skandi-style look.
Also in Greenock
Aha, I’m just outside it these days, not by far though Also in Greenock

I’ve also asked for an opinion from a joiner friend, as it will be him putting it up..

Yeah my builder is a cabinet maker by trade so I’m going to show him the idea and ask him - I suspect he can probably just get it done properly for not much more money, plan is to get a Howdens carcass then make custom doors for it all (or stick it on their blank doors)

Helped a friend fit the sound deadening slatted stuff about a year back. Still on the wall with no issues.
I've done a few LVT self adhesive floors and I just applied the same technique to the wall. Make sure it's clean and free from dust, apply Evo-stick impact adhesive to the area, heat the self adhesive then stick it on the glued wall making sure you go over it with even pressure, particularly at the edges and corners.
It'll make a right mess of plaster when it comes off and I wouldn't 't stick it on gyproc. As long as you are prepared for that in the future it's fine.

Thanks for that - I know the local Karndean reseller well, I'll go and speak to him about putting it on the wall or whatever else he can recommend insteadI've done a few LVT self adhesive floors and I just applied the same technique to the wall. Not bothered about sticking it to gyproc, we'll be long gone by time any new purchaser of the house decides to redecorate that bedroom.........

Eventually got these installed yesterday - they are stuck on using the tape plus a strong adhesive recommended by the joiner who fitted them for us.I was wondering if anyone had ever used this wall panelling?

Can't complain whatsoever its come up really well, the lad installing them was quite impressed with the quality of them too - only 4mm thick but veneered on both sides, to prevent warping

Quite like the look of these myself - looked at doing something similar from mdf strips but it was going to be. Nightmare getting them cut!
It would be worth buying a table saw for that. But I'd use wood not MDF to avoid a fluffy finish.I wonder if there's a wallpaper that gives the same look? It would be much easier and much cheaper.
These panelled walls do look nice.
I guess with real wood panels you could maybe put batons on the wall and then nail the panels to the batons so there's less damage to the plastered wall when you come to remove it? Or maybe use suitable screws if it was possible to fill over the screw heads, like you might do with dowelling pegs?? But with veneer panels maybe that wouldn't work.

B&q will cut mdf for you for 50p a cut if you have one with a timber service anywhere near you
They also do preprimed MDF stripwood but its £7/8 a strip!
