I’ve got a problem with my Makita HK 1820 chipping hammer in that the hammering action is reluctant to start when presented to the wall, it takes a few prods before it starts to hammer, if I release pressure it starts misbehaving again. Is there any easyish fix/part I can sort out to cure the issue? Note it’s purely a chipping hammer, no rotary action. Thanks.

I'd send it for service back to makita. Think they are in Milton Keynes

Assume you've already checked it's clean and lubricated?

Only as far as greasing the bit, I may have tentative poke around and see if there is anything obviously broken but having looked at a schematic online, I may end up having it sorted by someone who knows what they’re doinglaugh
