Makita sds issue

I’ve got a problem with my Makita HK 1820 chipping hammer in that the hammering action is reluctant to start when presented to the wall, it takes a few prods before it starts to hammer, if I release pressure it starts misbehaving again. Is there any easyish fix/part I can sort out to cure the issue? Note it’s purely a chipping hammer, no rotary action. Thanks.

I'd send it for service back to makita. Think they are in Milton Keynes

Only as far as greasing the bit, I may have tentative poke around and see if there is anything obviously broken but having looked at a schematic online, I may end up having it sorted by someone who knows what they’re doing
