That gets to the bits that can be unscrewed after you've got the handle off, so that unfortunately doesn't get me any further. Cheers though.
have you done that on both sides and then just tried to pull the handle away? maybe the bar is permanently attached to the side you're working on?or just prybar thr handle off.

Failing that – angle grind the handle off and purchase new ones – on offer £5.74

Have you removed the Allen bolt from the bottom side of the square part (visible in your 2nd photo)
Yeah, on both sides. It just reveals the mounting plate to the door face, which in itself can't come off unless the handle has been taken off the spindle. A crowbar would probably work, but there won't be much of the door left afterwards.
I've done this simple task countless times before, but this one has finished me.
Maybe you should try undoing the plate from the door despite thinking it wont come off with the handle. I've found that a lot of interior handles are like that, the handle is fixed to the back plate, and comes off in 1 piece, you might have to move the handle up and down etc to get to all the screws. The only times I've seen the handle seperate is ones that have slightly broken, and have the internal circlip etc missing.
Have a look at photos of new ones to see how they come, 1 piece.
