Boiler issues, at wits end

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30si compact , 7 years old, installed by BG.
EA229 no CH or HW , reset a few times and got a little hot water but then nothing. Rang half a dozen numbers on the WB page, got voicemails, some replies, went with WB direct but they couldn't get here until friday so tried a local company as well.
Wednesday - WB accredited local guy turned up washed out condensate trap, no joy, sorry you need the electrodes replaced, can't get the part until tomorro , £438 , i declined saying i'd wait the extra 24 hours for WB)
Friday - WB direct turned up (£318 guaranteed fix) replaced gas valve, tested ok, (i quickly felt the rad pipe and ran some HW then had to rush to an appointment) . came back 2 hours later to find house freezing cold, we have HW but no CH. Rang WB back and they said it's the controls (drayton wireless single channel) which they don't touch. but showed me how to force it into MAX mode which gives 15 mins on the CH . Seems a bit co-incidental that the wall controls and gas valve would give up at exactly the same time.
I can toggle the thermostat which makes the radiator symbol appear on the boiler so this means the controls are fine i think ? WB direct coming back on wednesday (been without CH since Monday)
I'm at a bit of a loss now, i can get another local plumber to come round and replace the controls but i think this will be several hundred for parts and labour judging by a quick google. Any ideas pistonheaders ? Me and the little'un are both sick. i've spent hours on hold and feel like everyone is fobbing me off.

Are WB coming on Wednesday off the back of you telling them about the radiator symbol appearing (which as you say indicates a CH demand)? If so that hopefully means they’re acknowledging it being a boiler issue, but I do wonder if this means there might be little you can do in the meantime unfortunately. I don’t have that boiler but others who do might be able to suggest something though.

Check that is your unit and everything looks the same.
It looks like a very simple boiler, to make the CH work it just wants 230V to the LR connection.
So you can replace the controls with a switch or a bit of wire. or the most basic thermostat which will switch mains.
(diagram page 32 or so)
But if the 'radiator' symbol is coming on the display and staying on, yet the boiler does nothing, it's not a control problem.
The boiler knows it is being asked to do CH and it's not doing it.
Anything else on the display?
If it thinks HW is asked for it will prioritise that and not do CH.
Page 60 or thereabouts, flow chart for the CH cycle,
Few pages later how to see status codes.
Remove all power from it, have a cup of tea and switch it back on.
Read the status codes.
When I had an issue with our boiler, I was advised by a plumber to take out a Domestic and General Boiler plan. It was for a year and cost £27.99 a month. They guarantee to repair it or replace the boiler. They came out within two days, replaced about £1500 of faulty bits and went. I cancelled the plan after the twelve months.

Cheers , a look through the manual shows a multi-plug connected to the divertor valve runs to the front panel which flips forward, he was yanking on this pretty hard, hard enough to break the clips at the bottom. Can't work out how to multi-quote:
No joy when i stick it to max and call for heat
No error codes (even after off/on)
Yes they are coming out reluctantly after me explaining the rad symbol coming on, they said they would prioritize it as a repeat call and might get here sooner but they also said that last week too.
Sticking it in MAX for 15 mins once per hour is getting some heat into the house, with this plus oil rads and heater fans we're not freezing anymore (until tonight)

^^^^Over eighteen months i spent nearly £800 on boiler breakdown at a rental property, using the same related to wife gas engineer. Advised by the same gas engineer to replace boiler. I signed up with D&G £27.99, with all replacement service and breakdown parts and labour included in monthly payment. D&G came the following day from signing up, over the last twelve months there has been no breakdowns, with boiler operating has new.I'm not sure why you are now asking about your controls, as whatever controls you've got they seem to be supplying the mains voltage to the boiler as it is displaying the radiator symbol.

I would call that a 'wireless programmer/thermostat' and a 'wireless receiver/interface for the boiler'.I call it a programmer because that's where you enter the on/off times.
I'm not saying any other naming convention is wrong.
I was trying to mentally prepare myself for buying a new programmer thing.
As way of an update, they came out today and changed the PCB , i have CH again and the wife is happy, Delbette junior is recovering from her flu and my blood pressure is below 2.5 bar
