Simple requirement, all i need is a toaster that will be deep enough to put in a slice of Warbutons Toastie bread heightwise!
Seems simple enough but three toasters so far and they all have an inch of bread sticking out the top,or don't fit in the toaster laying the bread on it's side.
Just ordered a toaster described as a 'deep slot' toaster, great i thought, but nope, bread sticks out the top of this one too?,any toaster recommendations? Thanks.

Can’t you just use the grill on the cooker instead of a toaster ?

Asda did/do make one that they advertise specifically for this.
It baffles me why manufacturers still make slots too small, you know, it's got one job...

You've got the problem all arse about face.

The problem is not with the toaster but with your choice of bread.

If you choose a loaf where the slice is too long to fit in the toaster, then either change your loaf, or perhaps cut the extra inch off the slice.

Et voila. Perfect slice / toaster interface.

It's a safety thing, so you don't have to put your fingers in a hot toaster to retrieve the munchies. Or a metal butter knife. People are stupid and keen to sue..

We have Jacksons farmhouse bread and that is too big for normal toasters, although someone mentioned Dualit toasters but they
are a bit spenny!

Had my dualit for 35 years and just replaced the timer mechanism (£12). Might be "spenny" (what a hateful expression you've found there) to start with but lasts forever as all parts available.

Spenny was mentioned in the hated phrases thread recently. I had no idea there were people stupid enough to use it .

Yeah the irony that Warburton toasties does not fit in most toasters. I have a 4 slicer so just put 2 slices in sideways instead of the right way up.
