My old tyre has perished, despite furious pumping doesn't retain pressure. Now it's only for occasional mainly summer use so not sure it's worthwhile going for a premium package? What do you think?

Yup. They work OK, but that is far too expensive.

We use wheelbarrow-size wheels for launch trollies for small sailing dinghies.
You can normally get a new wheel complete with tyre for not much over a tenner.
The cheap ones have plasticky tyres and only last a couple of years.

I use old 8" road trailer tyres, but often end up struggling to find decent inner tubes at a good price.
